So I've made it through Spring Break. For those of you that know me you know this is a big deal. I do okay during the summer but mid-school breaks stress me out. I actually enjoyed this one though. Yes, I said it! I enjoyed having my kids home. There were times (if you know what I mean) but over all we had a good busy vacation at home.
We had playdates, went to the Aquarium, went to see Race to Witch Mountain (which as pretty good), and we went to Nickel City and Chuck E. Cheese ( I deserve a medal for that one, WOW, is all I have to say).
We had a late over with two friends and I had let Parker and Bailey pick a ton of treats to eat with the movie we rented, thinking they wouldn't eat it all and we'd have treats for later. BUT, I should have known better. The 5 kids ate 2 bags of popcorn, a can of pringles, a box of Yogo's, about 10 mini Kit Kat's, a bag of gummy bears and each had a small can of 7-up and no one threw up! I was impressed.
Brayden took thursday off and we went into Chicago to the places above. We also went to the Art Institute. Not a good place for a tried crazed 3 year old. Bailey almost touched a Van Gogh and Parker was trying to overt his eyes to all the naked lady pictures and statues. It was a stressful visit but I'm glad the kids got to see some of those paintings. They are amazing. We'll definitely go back. We saw were Brayden will be teaching starting Monday! (He's very nervous, but he always is and he does great) He teaches a class in the city and one in Evanston. We had to go get his parking pass and for the second time that day the kids bailed us out with their quarters so we could pay the meter. Way to go kids!
It's been a great vacation and I'm glad we don't have to do it again until next year. Hurray for Spring Break survival!!!

Oh boy, we can't wait to come and visit you! Ian kept asking today, "How far away does Holden live?" Sadly, I had to keep repeating "Holden lives far, far away." wahhhhh!
